Autobiography in Five Short Chapters

Chapter 1
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost...I am helpless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

Chapter 2
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I'm in this same place.
But it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

Chapter 3
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it there.
I still fall in...it's a habit...but,
my eyes are open
I know where I am
It is my fault.
I get out immediately,

Chapter 4
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

Chapter 5
I walk down another street.

I think this poem was very deep, because it had the ability to mean so many diffrent things, like falling into peer pressure, or (something everyone can connect to) cleaning their room. I think the author of this poem did a great job writing it! :)

This poem is one of my all-time favourites. i love it, and it has alot of meaning to me. This poem has the abilty to be able to relate to every single person on this earth, as every one makes mistake. Everyone has a different outlook, so this poem may mean something different to everyone. to me it means that you make mistakes in you life, and sometimes it takes a little bit to be able to learn from your mistakes. Whether it be Drugs, alchohal, or something as simple as cleaning your room, this poem will and can reach out to you in some way or another.

I think this poem is very true about life and that life has lots of road blocks and holes you keep getting caught in and that you have to pick your self up again and walk around it

I like this poem because it shows you that sometimes in life you have difficulties but that a change is sometimes good.

I like this poem alot, I think it is really deep. I think this is a really good poem for a teenager to be reading, because all teens go through something like this and I know that alot of people who can relate to this poem. You keep falling down the same hole until one day you change that... And just walk away from the hole.

I agree with you Danielle S.KPM. It makes alot of sence. I think it means that you don't blame anything on your self just others and at the end you have no choice but to take the blame.

this peam is intreating to me because i think what the poet was trying to say that the first tim you make a mistake its not your falt, the seccond its not your falt the third you should have learned and it is your falt the forth you should be able to somewhat avoid it and the fith you should remember and doge the problem compleatly.
